Nick Scott, Associate

Nick has worked in our corporate team since qualifying as a solicitor in 2004 and was promoted to Associate in September 2008.

Corporate Law

Nick assists clients with their full range of corporate requirements including acquiring or disposing of businesses; management buy-outs; group re-organisations and restructuring; partnerships or sole traders wishing to incorporate as limited companies or limited liability partnerships; companies wishing to start a joint venture; shareholders wanting to regulate their relationship and general company administration.

When appropriate, Nick works closely with other lawyers in our Real Estate, Employment, Litigation, Shipping, and Family Departments in relation to corporate transactions so that clients receive the benefit of their combined specialist experience relating to the relevant market sector and particular issues of the transaction.

Banking, Lending and Finance

Nick has experience of advising financial institutions both in the UK and abroad in relation to their lending facilities and upon how to take appropriate security over assets and businesses in England and Wales whether by way of mortgage, charge, guarantee or other appropriate method. This expertise also assists Nick's clients when taking advice upon the terms of their borrowing facilities in connection with their business banking facilities.

Corporate Recovery

Nick also assists our Corporate Restructuring and Recovery unit by dealing with accelerated acquisitions and disposals, debt and equity re-scheduling, group reorganisations and related matters.

Professional Firms

Through recent experience, Nick has developed a particular interest in dealing with professional firms having assisted firms of solicitors, accountants, estate agents, surveyors and insurers with their business law requirements including acquisitions and disposals of businesses; retirement from partnerships and incorporations from partnership to limited companies and LLPs.
