Wind Farm Solicitors and Renewable Energy
Our team of specialist wind farm solicitors and renewable energy lawyers advise on projects relating to onshore and offshore wind farms and other renewable energy facilities. We are members of the British Wind Energy Association (BWEA).
Wind Farms
In relation to wind farms, our specialist renewal energy solicitors are involved at all stages of a project, from the drafting and negotiation of documentation to secure land interests and easements, by option, agreement or lease, to the drafting and negotiation of documentation for the construction and commissioning of the wind turbines and the export of the power generated.
Agricultural Advice
Our wind farm solicitors advise on the environmental and ecological impact of wind farms, including offshore wind turbines, and on all related planning issues. We also advise on agricultural law issues relating to wind farms, for example agri-environmental schemes, the single farm payment scheme, agricultural tenancies, crop loss and mines and minerals.
Marine and Fisheries
In addition, for offshore wind farms and offshore projects we advise on marine consents and their interaction with other marine users. We have an international reputation for our knowledge of fisheries law and practice and have successfully negotiated compensation packages for loss of fishing rights on behalf of a number of marine developers. We have successfully advised upon and obtained injunctions when necessary.
Our offshore team also advises in relation to marine spatial planning, ports and harbour regulation (including rights of navigation) and advises a number of offshore support vessel operators. We have successfully acted for parties to a marine planning related judicial review.
Tide and Wave Energy
Our renewables team advise upon all aspects of tidal and wave energy.
Gas Storage, Waste to Energy, Bio-fuel
Previous offshore projects advised upon also include coastal defence work, gas pipelines and gas storage caverns.
Our involvement with other renewable energy projects includes advice relating to the development and commissioning of waste to energy and bio-fuel facilities.
